The lesser of two evils
When you live in a system, as we do, where someone else’s misfortune is a legitimate business opportunity, you live in a system where everything is for sale.
This is a system that allows greed to thrive.
We just accept it as inevitable. Corruption is expected. It’s just the way of the world. You can’t do a darn thing about it. Been around since Cain and Able.
This is a system that promotes selfishness and separation. A system that weaponizes isolation. A system that allows humans to dominate and exploit and oppress other humans.
The few are allowed to gain dominance, and they make laws to ensure what they do is legal until they become powerful enough to feel confident ignoring the laws.
And the people just shrug and get on with their lives. No one seems to care about what is happening to all of us.
This isn’t working. We’re caring about the wrong things.
No one seems to understand that what is best for all of us is what is best for each of us. The individual and the whole can’t exist without each other. We are all co-creators of what is.
We can do better than this.
