There are evil wizards and goblins at work in the world today
I can’t tell if Putin is a marauding dragon or a bored, evil wizard running amok, but let’s just give him the benefit of the doubt and call him an evil wizard. Dragons are supposed to be wiser and cannier than Putin appears to be.
The wizard in Washington, who’s name is Joe, doesn’t want to get involved with Putin’s recent rampage into Ukraine.
These two wizards couldn’t be more different.
Putin is a tyrant who does things his way. Joe is a frontman for a cabal of advisors who analyze things and tell him what to do. Joe’s special talent is that he doesn’t think further ahead than he can predict.
The wizard in Beijing, whose name is Xi, doesn’t want to get involved either. He likes total control and doesn’t like to get into situations where he isn’t the one controlling things. He’s got a cabal of advisors, too, but Ol’ Xi is nobody’s fool.
I think Xi understands dragons better than the other wizards.
Why can’t wizards get along?
Well. It’s complicated.
It’s complicated because that’s the way wizards like it.
Dragons prefer to keep things simple. They do things the old way. Wizards like to learn state-of-the-art spells and complicated conjurations and then try them out unexpectedly on the inhabitants of the countryside.
The wizards keep the world stirred up because, what else can a wizard do when things get to be so ho-hum you would think you’re in hell.
Why the inhabitants of the countryside put up with this shit year after year is a mystery.
What most of the inhabitants of the countryside really want is just to live their lives but the wizards would find that mind-numbingly boring, so they keep things stirred up.
Among the inhabitants of the countryside is a small group of like-minded people who know that something must be done about the wizards. They are slowly and imperceptibly spreading light across the land and letting the light do what light does.
Push back the darkness.
They know that the wizards would not have the power they have if the inhabitants of the countryside did not give it to them, if the inhabitants of the countryside did not give up their own power to the wizards.
They know that wizards are just regular people who have gotten power but don’t know how to handle it so the power has been corrupted by their misguided attempts to control it.
They know the inhabitants of the countryside must change the way they do things. They know the way things are being done is not sustainable.
They know the inhabitants of the countryside must all change their minds.
Their message to each other is simple.
We have to change our minds. It applies to everyone equally.
We can’t let this continue.
We know how this story ends. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy that perpetually profits off misery.
We have to change our minds.
Why should we continue to perpetuate systems and societies that exploit people, the earth and future generations?
We’ve got to change the way we do things. To do that, we’ve got to change our minds. We’ve got to liberate our hearts.
It will take changing our minds so we can find the reasons to make better choices. It will take changing our minds so we can see consequences and their causes.
It will take changing our minds so we can see how we get in our own way.
It will take changing our minds so our minds are willing to work with our hearts instead of ignoring the wisdom inherent in our heart.
We must change on a fundamental level.
We must change on a massive scale.
We must change before we can no longer do it.
Obviously we need a miracle. If you want to attribute that miracle to God or to magic or to people working with the laws of nature, it doesn’t matter. We all still need to do our part.
It’s the least we can do.
Spread the word.
Let’s dream together.
