We think we are thinking
We have no idea what we are doing. The inaccuracies of our language betrays us to ourselves.
We don’t take responsibility, we accept it our not. But since we see ourselves as takers, we must be consistent and take rather than accept. We’d rather see ourselves as active instead of passive.
We are such consumers, and are so transactionally oriented we think we ‘pay’ attention rather than investing it for future returns. We want to consume time rather than allow time to be time. We want it to be done and move on to the next thing, to get to the future, rather than exist in a moment that has no duration.
We deliberately limit ourselves without understanding our nature.
We separate ourselves from our essence and from each other.
We ignore the beauty inherent in life and instead attempt to dominate and control it.
We allow our words to define who we think we are.
We do when not doing is the right thing to do. We can’t not do.
We think we control. We think we are. We think we do. We never even try not doing.
We have no idea what we are doing.
